I dont know Delita very well but his reputation sounds good. Dagger is a bit too safe of a heroine to call great for me, but she is good. So yeah pretty close to all great

Delita is great and far and away my favorite character from tactics.

Dagger is probably the weakest and Id say shes my...fifth (?) favorite character in FF9 but I still like her.

At the top five, I have three characters I like and would be happy to see win, and two characters I either don't care about or mildly dislike, but think they deserve a championship for their respective games by now. So really, I'm satisfied with any winner.

Was a great run, especially with the Day 60 close call. Sorry it couldn't be top 5.

I went in fully expecting it to be a lazy cash grab, but it might be my favorite Final Fantasy game, period. The only flaw I had with it is that it isn't a complete story. It is definitely a self-contained story, but this is nowhere near the full plot of the game and it leaves a ton unresolved. It is unlikely we get the second part any time soon, either, and by the time it does come out I feel like I will have forgotten some of the finer points of the story.

But the entire cast here is great. Cloud/Barret/Aerith/Tifa/even minor character (Jessie/Reno/Rude/etc) are leagues better than their original manifestation.

I feel like this is the first year in a long time where one character doesn't have almost unstoppable momentum by this point. They all seem pretty equal in strength (at least until we see where the Barret savers land)

How is the gameplay, though? I have yet to play a non-turn based FF game yet
But from the first real trailer they released, a boss fight against that Scorpion mecha iirc, it looked kinda drawn out, like 7 minutes long boss fight which looked a little too drawn out, imo

i don't think any of the boss fights felt drawn out on normal. hard mode they are a bit more of an ordeal but i would prefer that to increasing the difficulty by making it more of an action game, which i think would be the other alternative
