This is true
With how the last few rounds went for Cecil and Barret and how many NRs people offered for them, I was sure they were going the next to go
And then Kefka went out and this is..surprising

Eh dont really care about either. Actually I barely even remember what Garnet is like character wise even though I think Ive played FF9 about 3 times now. I dont recall disliking her at least. Tifa would have to wait til I get 7R to see if she got any better than being meh in the original. All she really has going for her is martial arts and her looks

I swear 7R makes her fucking perfect, and not just looks-wise, she has such a good heart and is given great characterization, you get a much better feel for who she is and what she's about... truly the absolute waifu... and she is literally the best playable character in the game on top of all that.

Anyway I know I said that FF VeryInsane is still a potential powerhouse with saves, but... maybe with the base being younger now, it may no longer be the case.

Man I guess the game really does need a remaster or something, or a package with the first 6 (surprised Square hasn't done something like this, with a mix of old graphics and music and remastered graphics/music. would be sick)

1-6 and Tactics aren't available on any of the current gen consoles though right? I wish they were selling each of them over and over again, it would make it much less annoying for me to catch up on the old ones I missed instead of trying to hunt down GBA carts >_>

Well Tifa hasn't gotten this far since contest VII, Garnet since IX and Delita since XIV so it's been a while. And last year they went out 62nd, 15th and 23rd respectively.

man, i went into this contest planning to take it easy. i would have let Kefka quietly go out in the 30s, but instead Raiden came along and let me get my hopes up again. then once i finally go all-in, he goes out. this is 10 years now i've been playing this, maining one of the most popular characters in the series and still can't get him a win. beyond frustrating.

@swordz9 i owe a NR and want to be able to give Squall a free save if needed so gonna have to call it off

emulation is incredibly simple and the best way to play any of those.
I - NES/PS1, the others are way too easy
II - PSP
IV - DS/PSP
V - GBA
VI - SNES, or GBA with sound patch

no experience with III, idk which version of it is best

This is Square fault for having a terrible game presevantion, not yours (the PC and mobile versions doesn't exist in my eyes)

a modded Wii can still install the WAD file but yeah at that point you'd already be fine to do the obvious and simple Snes9x or VBA route!

I've been trying to get them through proper channels if possible, I'm not an emulator guy and I don't even know if I could run that stuff. (GMUN's last post is complete gibberish to me)

I'll keep looking for GBA etc versions but man, others have said the mobile ports aren't ideal so I really don't get why they're the only thing you can officially play them on. I'm pretty much having the same convo in two different topics so I'll stop derailing this one now, but thanks a lot for the advice all of you! I tried SNES classic too for VI but that's way overpriced thanks to Nintendo pulling the same shenanigans.

Lol I am aware they're different games but given that V and VI have official 'Advance' subtitles for their ports that is pretty misleading of them, especially as regular Tactics wasn't even available on GBA. And why the heck is that the one that got ported. I don't have a Wii U so it's a moot point but I swear I don't understand Square's decisions.

Anyway uhhh Kefka huh? Dancing Mad etc. Maybe if I can play VI finally I'll feel bad about killing him here >_>

Definitely wasn't the result I was hoping for. I didn't think he had much of a chance until I started hearing about how so many people had him in the finals. So close, but so far.

My old computer from 15 years ago was how I played old Fire Emblem Japanese games, CT, SMRPG, Earthbound, and a few others so it doesnt require a good computer to run SNES/GBA games tbh
