They have the funds to give everyone full healthcare in the country but they instead choose to spend it on the military, paying aid to other countries and overall being shitty at managing the funds all together. They could lower taxes for the people who need it the most and give us healthcare but they simply don't want to. Maybe when people actually wake up to this fact then change will happen. When I lived in Japan and South Korea, it blows my mind how much better the healthcare was and how cheap it was too. An X-ray and a cast for my broken arm in South Korea at the time was only about $120 without insurance.
