If you want to throw in a few last minute nominations, you can. But I was actually about to do a last call because theres so many nominations already.

Ok, as much as I hate to turn anyone away, Im going to call this closed (again), with 120 nominations. I still havent reviewed all of them thoroughly, so theres a chance some might not qualify, but they superficially all look ok.

For those unfamiliar with how I do ranking topics, I try to finish all my write-ups before posting the ranking topic. So itll be a little while, but once I get started, Ill be able to post them pretty frequently. Ill provide updates in this topic in the meantime.

This is an excellent intro! Its got a unique look with some great visual effects and a strong song, and I really like it. Id have to give it more thought to decide exactly how it would have scored, but I feel pretty sure this would have placed in the top 20. If anything might have held it back it would have been the Story factor, although there are definitely some elements to boost that score as well.

As far as I know, the TV intros topic hasnt purged yet if anyone wants to discuss TV intros in there, but Ill cover this one here.

I watched the first two (I cant get the third to work without a prompt to download something, which Id rather avoid), but I didnt have too much to say about them. They both strike me as intros that would have placed somewhere in the 4 to 5 score range (probably slightly below the top 50), with Xam'd placing a bit higher than Angel Beats. The animation and music, while good, strike me as about average to slightly above average using the (tough) scoring system I employed, and neither intro jumps out at me as that unique or with much apparent story standing on their own. Thats just a superficial evaluation because Im not doing the multiple watches and thorough write-up that heavily influenced my scoring, but its a fair guess.

I mean Im not really, but I checked them out.

I cant say Im a fan of these intros. They both strike me as falling into the category of a bunch of random clips without a clear story. They also come across as pretty dated, in no small part due to the music. So these wouldnt have done nearly as well as the one you nominated, which was very good.

Thanks Snake! Its going to be very different than the style of my last ranking topic, but it should be fun. For one thing, Im experimenting with creating tiers for the first time on a ranking topic (with appropriately video game themed titles for each tier).

Something like 95 write-ups done. Getting there...

I confess I havent made much progress on this the last few days. I had a sudden motivation to finally get to work on sending out query letters for a novel I finished earlier in the year, which Id been putting off all this time. So itll be a little while longer for me to get around to finishing up the last 20 or so write-ups (which always seem to be the slowest), but I should be able to get to it in the near future.

Gotta do what's important!

Thanks. It looks like no luck so far with the first few. And yes, query letters absolutely suck.
