I love playing Dragonball FighterZ with Bruce Faulconers soundtrack.

The Arkham games with the animated series soundtrack.

Most horror games with Nine Inch Nails.

I definitely plan on trying out Ghost of Tsushima with the Rurouni Kenshin OST

I think one of the coolest experiences to me was playing The Witness (which mostly doesn't have any music) while listening to music by "Ario" (aka "diplocephalus" and a bunch of other aliases) as sort of a fake soundtrack to the game. It fit the mood really well, created a cool atmosphere and if i had the time/ability i'd try to make a mod to get specific songs to play at specific areas or moments in the game. Ario's music feels like "the soundtrack to The Witness" to me even though it never was.

Beyond just general "whatever I feel like listening to + game" stuff, I like to put on Spyro Gyra, calming music, or city pop and just drive around first-person in GTA 5. I also put on my Silent Hill OSTs & similar music playlist under The Sinking City since i felt that score was way too sparse & lacking.

I remember back on Project Gotham Racing 3 plugging my ipod into the 360 and using custom music for the races.

I don't do this often so there's not much to choose from.

I remember playing the MadWorld soundtrack while doing the Organization XIII Data Fights. Really helped me beat Axel.

Recently though if I turn down the game music I usually put a show or movie on instead. Specifically if I'm doing something really monotonous in game.

This is the only way to play Rocket League
I can't imagine playing it with sound, it's been years since I've heard the car noises.
The in game music is great, but yeah.
