Linda Cardelilini portrayed the character as one person had asked the director to make another live action lesbian Velma dreams come true but he wrote back "I tried. But the studio just kept watering it down & watering it down.". But its as simple as having an SO of the same gender. If Velma can have a boyfriend, then she could also have a girlfriend. You can indicate it just fine with "these are my dads" or "this is my wife" or a kiss/hand-hold or the like. keyblader1985 posted... Nobody else really started following suit until legislation finally made it through in California in 2008, and then support gradually spread from there.
