Wow, reading how compliant and nice they were with the cop, it's hard to believe Alabama is going after them so harshly. And the time lag too, it almost makes it feel like the judge was having a bad day and wanted to lash out.

I wouldn't be opposed. Hopefully someone will bring it to his attention because I don't think the punishment fits the crime in this case, even though they did multiple things that ultimately landed them in the position they are in. The biggest one being ignoring returning for a year until his bond was fixing to be revoked. That was the first big mistake.

But even with all that, I don't agree with 5 years at all.
