vpns are a pretty important security tool and blocking people who use them just spits in the face of basic internet security. what troglodyte thought that was a good idea?

In my experience, they are not. I don't visit this site, or any others without my VPN. Rarely do I hit an issue, but it's not here. Try changing the location and you should be fine.

i was browsing on my phone and it signed me out. i signed back in and it said my IP has been identified as a vpn/tor exit point or something and that it put me in some stupid anonymous mode. i dont use tor so i had to be the vpn (private internet access)

actually yeah just disconnecting and reconnecting fixed it, but the fact that gamefaqs is even attempting to block vpn or tor users is pretty atrocious

reminds me when Google blocked my IP cuz it thought i was a bot. i couldn't convince them otherwise. only thing i could do was to change my IP address by fiddling around with my modem and having my ISP reset it. super annoying.

I think Gamefaqs has been blocking Tor users for a while. Some people mentioned losing accounts because of it

maybe. i dont use tor cause its too slow, but a paid vpn is a good mix of usable speed and security so i use that

occasionally google makes me enter some captchas and its a little annoying but not the end of the world. ive never been outright blocked from anything due to my vpn except 4chan (which is a little more understandable than gamefaqs)
