BK is to blame if they asked her to work while she was symptomatic for thought in any way that she had covid-19.

But frankly, going by the Tweet alone, there's nowhere near enough information for any reasonable person to come to any conclusion.

Also Burger Kang

BK would only be responsible if she contracted COVID while working at BK, after BK refused to implement basic safety measures.

It is extremely gross these companies are quick to blame non-COVID factors for the deaths of their employees. It feels like victim blaming, honestly.

I think it's fair to at least ask for a source, though. Going by the Tweet alone, I can't help it feel like there's more information. It doesn't make a lot of sense for someone to die of covid-19 and the employer respond that way.

I was going to ask why being trans mattered until I saw BK's pr person blamed hormones. Angering a vocal community isn't smart.

So in short get your resumes for BK pr department ready kids.

As we've seen in the last few months, employers don't care if their employees get covid and have done little to prevent the spread of it at some places.

If it's something the manager came up with, not sure why Burger King themselves are to blame.

It would be like that McDonalds manager in that one case where the worker got into a fight with a drive-thru driver. I don't think policy is to give names to angry customers, nor hang up 911 calls and keep workers from fleeing a fight.
(But I don't work at McDonalds, so someone enlighten me on their policy)

Still getting my Burger King though.

They really aren't, especially since Burger King runs off a Franchise system. The buck stops mostly at the franchisee.

Granted, Burger King will almost assuredly demand action and threaten to pull their franchise license to avoid the bad PR.

if you start randomly injecting steroids you can pretty easily die, but that's not generally something that'll happen if you're following some form of proscribed hormone replacement therapy.

I can promise you that the corporate stance is to stay tf home if you're sick, especially these past few months

That said obviously RBI cant personally make sure all franchisees and all managers are following those guidelines at they're 26,000 locations
