My friends are into Glee, I heard about the CP guy. His name on the show was Puck or something. The second one, Corey Monteith, is the one most people know since it made headlines around the world for some reason.

Some reason? lol? It was because he was still one of the show's leads on a massively popular show.

Rachel berry fucked up too. iirc she was posting all BLM stuff and the fat black chick called her out on being a bully and making her time on Glee miserable.

It wasn't the fat black chick (Mercedes), it was the black cheerleader that replaced Santana as Queen Bitch after she graduated.

Finn died of an overdose, and Puck (the older one) committed suicide after being caught with child porn.

  • Most average humans cannot survive past 3 Days without Water
  • Most average humans cannot survive past 3 Weeks without Food

If she drowned, then she's long gone and it's only a matter of time before finding her body.
If she's just missing somewhere nearby, you still got time.

It is extremely difficult if not outright impossible to drown yourself. It is also an extremely painful and (relatively) slow way to die that no one is going to look at and say "Yep that's how I'm gonna do it".

I concur, but what if she drowned by accident?

Hypothetically, she goes for a swim with her kid without "Stretching Properly" before hand.

She pulls a muscle mid swim, and because she's never pulled a muscle while in a very deep lake, she panics, and accidentally drowns?

Doesn't that sound plausible?

Yeah I feel like it might be an accident or foul play. The reason why I don't suspect suicide is because her son was with her. I know you'd have to be in the darkest of mental spaces to contemplate suicide but to do it with your young kid nearby and possibly being a witness to it is just a whole nother level of dark.

But who knows what really happened. Sad stuff all around regardless

Oh yeah no I wasn't ruling out accidental, if anything there's probably a 99.9% chance that's how she died (drowning). How it happened of course will probably never be known (unless someone that knows her says she can't swim or something like that).

I was just saying the concept of purposely drowning yourself isn't super feasible. You'd have to get yourself down deep enough in the water so that you couldn't reach the surface again before your panic reflexes took over and your body started inhaling water.

Sounds like it's officially been acknowledged that it's now a recovery mission.

Area of the lake they think she disappeared in based on where the boat was found is about 30 feet deep with only 15 feet of visibility. That's pretty fucking bad.

Obviously nothing concrete but I've seen some chatter from people familiar with the type of boat she'd have rented say the specific boats can be difficult to get back into, especially if there isn't a ladder (which is a possibility). Apparently there was also a man that drowned in that lake once after he helped his daughter back onto the boat and the boat started drifting away and he didn't have enough energy left to reach it.

So lotta possibilities but I guess there will never be an answer as to exactly what happened (outside of what her kid has supposedly said).

I get it happening in the ocean, but how do you drown in a lake? If you get tired it's easy to float on your back, right? I don't know, I'm maybe be way off.

I was wondering about the size of the lake earlier to see how long it will take for divers to find the body, because someone very well could have came along, "rescued" her, and then just took off.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Piru#Drownings

In August 1994, 27-year-old Jesus Danilo Carranza from North Hollywood drowned while on an outing with his family despite wearing a life jacket.[12]

In July 1997, Liborio Dominguez from Long Beach drowned while trying to rescue his daughter. The young girl was saved, but Dominguez's body was not discovered until several days later.[12]

In September 1997, 22-year-old Isidro Castillo from Newhall encountered problems while swimming and called for his girlfriend to throw him a buoy. The woman was unable to get the flotation device to him. His body was found a day later.[12]

In September 1997, rescue workers recovered the body of 30-year-old Port Hueneme resident Ulises Anthony Mendoza, who was last seen struggling days earlier while swimming with family members near their boat.[12]

In 1997, park officials speculated that wind gusts and deep columns of chilly water on the lake, which is up to 160 ft deep depending on the time of year, can overtake swimmers quickly.[12]

In February 1998, the body of Lake Piru employee Arthur Raymond Caladara was found drowned near the dock.[12]

In June 1998, the body of 30-year-old Vy Xuan Dang from Garden Grove, who disappeared while swimming with his family during the Memorial Day weekend, was found by a park ranger.

In September 2000, 25-year-old Van Nuys resident Edie Cruz, swam the short distance to his stalled radio-controlled model boat, and drowned only 10 feet from shore. Douglas West, Lake Piru's parks and recreation services manager, said there had been about a dozen drownings during his 23 years at the lake. Most victims are inexperienced swimmers who are not wearing life jackets and who overestimate their own abilities or swim in prohibited areas.[12]

Naftoli Smolyanksy died in a boating accident in August 2008. Smolyansky had taken his 9-year-old son and 5 and 7-year-old daughters out on the lake Monday afternoon when his youngest daughter fell off the boat. He jumped into the water to save her, and managed to get her back on the boat as it drifted away. Smolyanksy was unable to swim to the boat and did not resurface.[13]

In May 2010, 36-year-old Roberto Barrios was celebrating his graduation from nursing school with a group of about two dozen people, when he went for a swim off of their pontoon boat. He had been swimming for about five minutes when the wind started pushing the boat away from him and two friends. People on a nearby boat rescued the two other people, but those on the pontoon boat couldn't get close enough to rescue Barrios before he disappeared under water. A few days later Ventura County Sheriff's dive team found Barrios at the bottom of the lake. [14]

On July 8, 2020, actress Naya Rivera disappeared while swimming with her son. A search of the lake began that day, resuming on July 9 after being temporarily called off due to nightfall. As of July 9, the Ventura County Sherrifs Department confirmed that the search has been shifted from an active search to a recovery mission and Rivera is presumed dead.[15][16][17][18]

This lake has quite the body count.

Have you ever pulled a leg muscle?

It hurts like hell.

If you panicked, and didn't have a life preserver, you could've accidentally drowned because you weren't focused and thought about floating.

Usually on lakes, lifevests are worn. You see people wear it when they take boats out. Well at least most visitors do at the lakes I've been to.

Folks familiar with the lake will advise to wear the lifevests for their safety. However, there are times when the life vests just aren't supplied enough too. Really depends on owner of the boat.

I wonder how big was the boat and if she was seen with someone else tbh. A 4year old left on a boat after What happened is not what you often hear about in these events

Also @KamenRiderBlade apparently part of the body count has to do with the fact it's the only lake in the area you can actually swim in? So more swimmers = more drownings/incidents.
