As evidenced by the fact that Russia is waging price warfare on us through Saudi Arabia by pressuring them to lower their oil prices to a price we can't compete with. (Why our gas prices are currently ~$2 a gallon)

There's zero evidence that Russia influenced our elections. Actually zero. No hacking of our booths or anything. That wouldn't even make any sense. You would just outsource the software to India and give them some sketchy undocumented requests on backdoors and such (Like how Buttigieg rigged the Iowa primaries)

the hacking is a different allegation than spending money on ads (AFAIK theres no allegation that the russian govt contributed to the trump campaign -- they ran their own ads. there are some russian bureaucrats who illegally contribiuted so maybe you could make a case there ). there's pretty compelling evidence IMO that the IRA (the agency who placed the ads) worked with the russian government. the claim that it was directly ordered by putin seems like a USIC fabrication though, im not aware of any independent verification of htat

the hacking allegations aren't even about hacking the election - there's a few different claims here

1. russian involvemnet in the guccifer leaks
2. hacking PII about donors from DNC servers

i agree with this. its bad, but I doubt it had much of an impact and the way democrats focus on it given the scope of all the other, much more horrible shit trump has done, is embarassing. it's like they just need an excuse for losing. 100k of ads in a presidential election is almost nothing (my post earlier about this was sarcastic, if it wasnt clear lol)

otoh the guccifer leaks may have had a bigger impact, but it's tough for me to be mad about those. i just wish somebody would hack the RNC servers too

I remember the wikileaks guy wouldn't say who gave him the data, but he was heavily invested in Hillary not winning and he was very open about that.

It was through his leaks that we learned Hillary's close ties to the DNC primaries. I am grateful that we learned this but it would have definitely been less of a targeted thing if we also got RNC emails.

the other factor here is that the DNC cybersecurity was fucking horrible and one of hillary's top advisors fell for pretty blatant spearphishing because one of their IT consultants told him it was a legitimate email. lmao. it seems just as plausible to me that other actors have tried to phish the RNC and jsut havent succeeded yet
