The flavor is nice, I'm always partial to honey, but it's just entirely too sweet. If I were ever to drink enough to get drunk, I would have a hangover from hell, ok?

Mead is amazing. Despite it being made with honey I dont think its too sweet at all.

It's really going to depend on exactly what mead you're drinking. I made one a couple years ago that I don't find too sweet at all. You're generally going to have some sweetness in there, but I've had much sweeter wines than this stuff, even just looking at stuff that would be considered off-dry. But then there are some that are sweeter, whether because they just weren't fermented as completely or because they started with more honey or added some at the end to adjust the flavour. If you look for one that's labeled as being dry or off-dry, you may find something you enjoy more.
