It was $15 on epic store recently, it's $10 to get a month of Windows gamepass which includes it and a ton of other games as well. It was ok, but I wouldn't pay $30 for it myself. (The $15 on epic store was with their $10 coupon you could re-use a million times).

If you have windows 10 and wanna play it, just get the gamepass, cause even if you like it, you'll be done in a week and that way you have 3 more weeks to try tons of other games.

Its ok

the characters are interesting and the gameplay feels kinda like a classic Bioware rpg

Its a solid game but it doesnt really do anything innovative imo, I sorta got bored with it before ever finishing it

Depends on what you want out of it.

I went in expecting "Fallout: New Vegas IN SPACE", because that's how most people describe it, but I was ultimately disappointed because it felt like the Diet Coke version of New Vegas. Like, you could see the framework that would have made it an awesome game, but everything felt half-assed and underdeveloped, to the point where you're always going "That wasn't as good as it could have/should have been."

What really hurt for me is the fact that narrative is always one of my biggest selling points for games (especially RPGs), with characterization a close second - yet there are some major flaws in the story and most of the NPCs are bland as fuck (they're mostly one-note jokes that I can't imagine ever allowing on to my ship if I was playing the game logically as opposed to going "I have to be stupid here so as not to miss content"). In the same vein, a lot of the quests sort of feel so immersion-breaking that it ruins the game's one selling point. There were WAY too many points where I was pulled completely out of the story because it felt like I was playing a tabletop RPG run by a shitty railroading DM.

With New Vegas I was motivated to play multiple times, with multiple different sorts of characters, trying to experience the story in different ways, because I was invested in the story, characters, and setting. With Outer Worlds, I never felt compelled to play it a second time (and barely finished the game the first time through), because almost every aspect of the story, setting, gameplay, music, and everything else just felt mediocre.

It also doesn't help that the entire running joke of the game is "CAPITALISM IS BAD!", but there's no complexity to it, and the joke starts running thin very, very quickly. They'd probably justify the lack of subtlety with "Hey, it's satire!", but good satire has to do more than just hit you in the face with the message over and over and over again.

It might be worth picking up if you can get it for $10-20 or so, but $30-40 is starting to feel too high, and anything more than that feels like too much.
