I played lots of DOS shareware -- and not just the marquee Apogee and Id stuff. In the interest of picking something more recent, though, I played a cat-themed platformer on Steam called The Purring Quest which I'm betting nobody else has tried. --- Congratulations to all the gurus, past and present, participating in the contest. All I remember is it was on a floppy, had the green/white visuals and played Zip-a-dee-Doo-dah when you finished or were heading up the slope or something. If you solved enough math problems in time, you were saved (and got sent back to the dungeon); otherwise, if you hit the bottom then you permanently died. Fitznik 1 and 2: Pretty old windows puzzle games that involve collecting keys and gems and avoiding spiders and snakes or blocking them with rocks.
