No first-person shooters. Third person, top-down, whatever, but not first person. Looking for a game with a three-player co-op campaign. Please suggest games and I'll tell you whether we've played them. Thank you so much.

Already played through it. The game was a lot of fun, aside from the trash last boss. Also I hated it single player. Having tons of adds during a boss is not a fun way to make bosses interesting.

Always fun, and a good fallback, but looking for something fresh.

I was thinking about this! I played it some by myself and had a good time so I'll look into it.

May vary depending on where you're from, but The Division 2 is currently in the Spring PSN sale for 7.99 so definitely a good time to try it. I'd also recommend Ghost Recon Wildlands and Breakpoint, also on sale, if you're into that genre.

Path of Exile > Diablo 3

However, I tried getting a friend to PoE it up with me last year and the game was just too glitchy/laggy/FPS-dropping/whatever to really make it work. Booted the game up this week to see if anything changed and it was still doing those shenanigans on a friggin' basic archer build -- very disappointing. I bet Diablo 3 runs better, honestly.

Anyway, I was going to suggest Dying Light, but I forget if you can switch between first- and third-person POV. It's definitely pretty damn fun if you can get a bunch of buddies to help you out.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands is friggin' amazing, it is a real blast with other people and it saves everyone's progress. The Tier 1 mode is awesome, too. Breakpoint, the sequel, was a huge disappointment in comparison and I would not recommend it.

Might also check out Warframe, there's a lot to work towards in that game, especially with the Dojo and new ship mechanics.

I've heard good things about Wildlands. Is the focus more on PVP or PVE?

Almost entirely PVE. There was a PVP element but I'd be surprised if it's still active.

Have you played it since Immersive mode was added in the recent update? I haven't tried it yet but I heard good things.

The main game is exclusively PVE. You're a member of a super elite military unit sent to South America (Bolivia I think?) to basically dismantle a cartel. The pacing is great, the world feels alive and it's a really rewarding co-op experience. The writers actually did their research and they cover I think every aspect of a cartel's operation that you can think of, which was really impressive and made the experience better.

The side missions are pretty fun, too - they range from defending a supply drop position to stealing aircraft (planes and helicopters) and then dropping them off to people in need.

You unlock special abilities that really add to the chaos of the game, too. That includes being able to spawn a vehicle for a speedy getaway, or calling in an artillery strike (though this was kinda broken for me in co-op for some reason), or calling in a squad of rebels to support you. As you do side activities and get more resources these abilities becoming more powerful.

And with the Tier 1 mode there's a lot of replayability, because the higher up you go the more rewards you get (experience, resources to upgrade your weapons, and special skins) as the challenge increases. And you can replay missions.

I didn't really get into the DLC but with more content I don't see anything to complain about.

There is a PVP mode that reminds me a little of the SOCOM Navy Seal games on PS2, where you have small teams competing against each other.

Breakpoint was a total wash though I think. Maybe with the new "realism" setting it's better but ... I can't imagine that being the case. It had so many glitches, the world felt lonely as hell, the story didn't make any sense (and is incomplete), the AI was terrible (you can just camp in a corner of a room and get headshot after headshot as they file in single file), and the pacing was slow as hell because if you wanted to summon any sort of vehicles you had to go to a fast travel point, go through animations and menus and more animations and then the vehicle would spawn like half a kilometer from you.

It might be more fun in co-op but from a solo player perspective it was a huge step back from Wildlands.

@LividDK - I haven't, I kinda lost interest in the game after I beat it and realized the story was not finished. Considering the whole rest of the game felt unfinished... it just left a really bitter taste in my mouth.

Kinda sucks since I do in general enjoy the gameplay, but the fact that it's so slow and glitchy and just really average makes me not want to waste any more time on it.

@Hexenherz Thank you so much for the detailed breakdown. Last question: when playing co-op, can we play with just three people? Or does there have to be an NPC fourth?

From what I remember the online co-op excludes the AI altogether, so it's just 2-4 human players.

For solo play, you can play with the AI teammates or disable them.

@Hexenherz I know I said that was the last question but I have one more. How long is the game? The base game, because DLC is always a wild card. It's all approximate, but for a few folk going through it casually. Thanks.
