It's not brutal, but it's harder than expected. Even from the demo, I went through potions like they were Pringles. It feels like it hits the ground running expecting you to be used to all the mechanics.

Imo almost every game needs difficulty options as follows:

Very easy: Just mash buttons and you won't die. No need to worry about supplies or strategy.

Easy: Just mash buttons and you will close to death sometimes but won't die hardly at all. Very little need for supplies but don't worry about strategy for the most part.

Medium: You will need to use supplies and a bit of strategy or you will die sometimes.

Hard: You will need a lot of supplies and a lot of strategy and you will still die a good bit.

Very Hard: You're gonna have to figure out how to break the game.
