It's half-off on Steam and I'm very tempted. I played RE1 and 4 on Gamecube back in the day, but none of the others. Okay I tried playing 5, and I didn't like 5.

It's more like 1 and 4 than 5. I would really recommend it but I'm biased because I love Resident Evil in general. But yeah it's really atmospheric and fun

If you havent played the original then you probably wont notice how bad it is compared to it. Its worth one play like most other games.

Its only similar to RE5 in that its OTS. RE5 is when the downhill slope the series was on dropped off.

Idk. From what I can remember about the original, I definitely liked the remake more. Maybe its just a difference or what people like in games...

It's excellent, greatly beating the original except for one tiny point - the N64 version had a randomizer

By my understanding a lot of folk are forgetting Resi 3 was basically a expansion for Resi 2 and the remake is no different.

Probably my favorite game of whatever year it came out. One of the best of the past few years.

Be aware that for really ridiculous reasons (at least one) it takes upwards of five headshots to kill a single zombie.

Rather than reducing the amount of ammunition they gave us, they increased the amount of damage the zombies can take. The least they could have done is given us options.

Same thing as RE4, enemies have a lot of health and only a critical hit results in instant destruction of a part.

That's been the case since they started allowing you to manually aim in the series. There's not really any other way to do it considering its incredibly easy to aim in these games.

RE2 remake is just a great game, regardless of whether you've played the series before. I'd start with RE1 remake, then hit up RE2 remake, but it really doesn't matter. When I got into the franchise on PS1, I started with RE2 and it gave a summary of events from the first one, but I had a lot of questions and went back to it and enjoyed it a lot.

If resident evil 2 remake is an 8/10, I'd call the 3 remake a 5/10.

My thoughts after playing through it a few times are that it's a fun arcade-type experience with replayability of the repetitive sort, but not really anything more.

Buy 2 it has a lot to offer. Avoid 3 unless you're a die-hard fan or looking for a quick rush arcade-style romp with no real puzzles and a chaining of seperate set pieces with little to no connection and minimum story

citation: platinum on 2, so far 3 playthroughs on 3 (last was on the super easy mode going for no-item box achievement and for reference it took my 1:46)
