Here in the Illinois the governor has banned dining in at bars and restaurants until further notice. Drive thrus will still be opened. This is going to be devastating with St Patty's day coming soon, and drinkers having no place to go. This is absolutely horrible.

Italy just announced they are no longer going to help those who are 80 years and older. It's not just the deaths from the virus, but the deaths of those who regularly become sick that's going to happen because there will not be enough beds and staff to accommodate people.

Might be time for me to pack up and head for the hills soon... literally. I don't like the looks of this at all.

Just last weekend things were fine. Washington was having issues but nobody was really talking about. Do you know what caused this scare?

An NBA playing testing positive and the league suspended operations. After that, all other sports leagues suspended operations. After that, it seemed like things went straight to hell. People began to take notice and started to get scared, and then the governments got scared.

Now it's full on we're all going to die!!!!!! Don't go out in public or you might get sick! BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!

Seriously, this thing has been blown way out of proportion and pretty much everyone has fallen for it. Everything will be back to normal by the middle of summer (If not earlier)

But hey, if you feel safe by hoarding toilet paper, coming up with conspiracy theories and hiding inside your house, then please, feel free to do it.

Something I dont get about Italy numbers...its still only 25,000 cases. Out of a population of 60 million. Thats a minuscule percentage of the population. So why is this a huge deal?

Yes, anime and gaming are still my favorite forms of entertainment. A Biscuit Hammer anime would be a dream come true, but I won't be that lucky I guess.

Mostly forgot about OT people (Feen's name rings a bell) and already left that place coz talking about anime seemed impossible without people completely shutting down the discussion with that horrible whining about even the tiniest things being a spoiler (including when anime-only people write theories).

Consitent spread worldwide led to US news starting to call it a pandemic, WHO declared it a pandemic right after and at that point US stopped trying to deny SARS2 would be a serious worldwide threat.

I still don't see how it's a good idea to just bet on China / Japan reports being wrong because it's unlikely. Coz like I said UK's plan was waving the white flag despite the possibility of it not invoking herd immunity, dooming UK and fucking over all countries with a connection to it.

But they realized how dumb the plan was anyways, do it's all fine.

Once these lockdowns go into effect and martial law takes over, people will begin looting and rioting. When the means of production start to slow down and you can't go to the supermarket on a whim or rationing begins...that is when things will get VERY scary.

The economy may not recover from this for years. We're entering a very dark period for the next 6 months.
