My nervous system broke so I can no longer sweat. Ironically I shower every day but mostly to cool off. When I was at my most depressed and healthy I probably showered twice a month. I'm sure I stank but I wasn't going out and seeing anyone anyway.

Realistically though, if you aren't doing anything to make yourself sweat, you probably only need one every other day or maybe even every 3 days for some. Showering every day isn't ideal (especially using soap and shampoo, a quick rinse with just water is fine) but it's a lot easier to keep a daily habit in my experience.

I don't think you can accurately judge unless you know the showering/bathing habits of the people you interact with often. It's easier to admit on an Internet message board because who gives AF?

One of my friends looks like a pretty typical white girl. We got in a discussion about it and she went on talking about how her skin dried out really quick when she showered every day. She read up on it and found out she needed to shower less because she hadn't been giving her body time to restore its natural oils or whatever (I dunno, I'd have to ask her again for the exact details, but that was the gist of it AFAIK).

Anyway, she looks and smells fine. You wouldn't be able to tell that she showered every other day if she hadn't outright said it.

Yeah. I mentioned earlier that's it not good to shower everyday. It can dry out your skin. When I found that out, I immediately stopped taking multiple showers a day. And I try not to take them everyday. The only time I try to take them is if it's been a few day, or if I'm going somewhere (like to work or to see my BF).

That being said, I take hotter showers, which is also bad for the skin, IIRC. Also, sometimes my Eczema shows up. But it's usually only on my hands. And it rarely active anymore...

Nope. Ive seen my coworkers tell others they smelled like shit and needed a shower with mine own eyes.

I just appear to be one of a lucky few who dont have a strong negative odor. But when I work out or do heavy labor I still will take a shower.

Almost me exactly. I'm like twice a week though.

I have long and beautiful hair that I am complimented upon quite often. Also, I started to shower less as I dated more. I learned more about how to take care of my hair and that transitioned to me showering less overall. The girls also went up in quality as well if that tells you anything.

Most stinky people I would imagine would respond they shower every day. Stinky people are just that: stinky. A shower helps but your body grows used to it.

If you can balance not showering with your stink, then you're golden. The hardest part is breaking the habit cause your skin is just so used to it and you'll "feel" dirty for like a week or so for each day you extend your average schedule.

Usually once a day, and sometimes twice on extraordinarily hot days where it would just feel terrible to have sweated so much. On rare occasions Ill just sleep through most of an entire day if its my day off and Ive got nothing to do so I might not even shower that day, but thats rare.

Again as I said they certainly will. Why would they not? I'm one of those people who like honestly more than anything so if I stink then folk certainly can tell me about it and they know they can. A stranger in the street? Couldn't give a shit what they do to be honest.

Nah. I'm not depressed at all. All I'm getting from this topic is some folk shower a lot because they stink a lot. It sucks to be them but they are not everyone. I've zero issue with the way I smell and neither do others. Do I use deodorant and aftershave? At times sure but so do most folk regardless of their showering habits.

but mostly jus changing shirts was enough
you can change shirts
but if you shower and your shirt stinks you are going to stink

I don't understand how your hair and skin don't feel so oily and stiff? I style my hair, so I definitely need to wash it in order to style it again the next day. Hair also gets weird looking after sleeping. It gets deformed on my pillow. Do you guys just always wear a hat?

And use a body wash that re hydrates your skin if you get too dry...

Did you always shower so much?
It takes adjusting to go back, but your skin may even become more soft over time by not being stripped of moisture from soap.
Within about a week, you could add a day of non showering and not feel so dirty anymore.

i know it sounds silly, but a lot of your body's natural bacteria is good for you, and actually is really a good immunity for bad shit. if you're constantly showering, that good bacteria usually gets washed off your body, so i like to let it stick around a day or two, ok?

obviously if i stink, or i was sweating a lot, or i i got gross somehow, i'd change it up, but for the most part, every other day, ok?

I mean you can wash your hair without taking a shower but still I generally have a buzz cut but even when I let it grow I don't style it so my hair is fine. As for the skin thing? I wash twice a day but admit I should use moisturiser more often. This is due to soap drying out my skin and living in good ol' Britain. This would be the case regardless of how much a shower. I dare say if I had someone to share a shower with I'd probably shower a lot more.

Shared showers are great if you have the space. Otherwise you can get cold pretty easily. It eventually turns into each person switching off to feel warm

As many times as I want. I use to do twice a day about 3 years ago but stopped. I also sometimes get in the shower during especially cold days.
