1-10. 10 as the most worried.

I think I'm like at 6. It's fascinating to read and get new information, but I don't trust anything fully of course. I don't think it's gonna go too bad, but I also don't think it's nothing to worry about.

Unless they are covering it up. There are reports of already much more infected, but since it's not official news I can't trust it. I also don't trust the official news either.

It's definitely much, much higher. Also, the incubation period is about 14 days, we will truly see how bad it has gotten in another 7-10 days. There are claims on Wechat stating anywhere from 10,000 to 90,000 dead already. Families are claiming that their loved ones who have died are being immediately cremated and not tested to see if it was the virus that killed them or not.

I live less than 1,000km from Wuhan. We were supposed to go to Shanghai on Tuesday for 2 nights (my parents are arriving from Canada Tuesday afternoon). We just canceled that trip and instead put my parents on a plane here from Shanghai instead. To say the least, we are worried. At first the worry was only for my parents and daughter, as it was only extremely dangerous in the elderly with preexisting medical conditions (my dad is a type 2 diabetic, my mom has asthma and hypertension). But with the confirmation of a 36 year old in perfect health being killed by the virus it is safe to say we are a fair bit more worried now. We've left the house twice in 6 days. We likely won't leave it again until we go to pick my parents up at the airport. They'll be here for a month. We have to wait and see what happens over the next week or so to see if we can actually do anything with them while they are here. I also expect if things don't improve that schools will not reopen right away either.

Look at the numbers there. 400% increase for confirmed infected in 3 days (and that's just confirmed, there are likely a lot more people with the virus that haven't had confirmation than those that are confirmed to have it).

If it keeps multiplying at that rate it will be 5,148 confirmed infected in 3 more days, then 20,592 3 more days after that, then 82,368 in another 3 days, etc.

This virus has already overwhelmed an entire province with a population larger than most countries.

I just received noticed that airplanes will be dumping disinfectant over my city between 4:00 and 4:30am tomorrow and they are telling people to stay indoors. They estimate that up to 20,000 people from my province may have been exposed to the virus and left Wuhan before the quarantine was put in place.

Worth keeping an eye on but I'm not awfully afraid. It doesn't seem any deadlier than a normal flu.

I am concerned about my parents though. Both are in their late 50s and early 60s so something like this can mess them up.

The amount of fearmongering I'm seeing online is astounding though.

A solid 1, even with it multiplying from 300 to 1200 over a few days its 1200 people globally. I think if it were 1200 people in one area Id be a little concerned but even then only 41 people have died and it sounds like those were infants and older people.

Knock on wood Im safe for now but if I get got itll be from my own ignorance.

Isn't that expected though? Some people are going to show symptoms and go to the doctor more quickly than others. And it's going to take time for people to die from it. Pretty sure these kinds of increases are expected at the beginning of any outbreak.

Because there are many, many more cases than a thousand odd cases. If it was just 1,000 cases, every single hospital throughout the entire province wouldn't be overwhelmed like they are. There are literally videos of dead bodies just laying on the floors of hospital hallways that are completely full of people (in one video there were 5 bodies in the span of about 40-50 feet). If it was only a thousand odd cases medical workers wouldn't be having complete mental breakdowns due to what is happening.

In Wuhan alone there is likely 140,000+ people currently infected (according to wechat and hospital sources that have leaked thus far).
