Precisely. One thing I've learned from engaging your ass is that you tend to interpret personal thoughts as fact, then spread these facts as valid claims. "I don't think these controls are good, dumb in fact. It must be bad game design!" I hate how Dark Souls games doesn't give you any indicator as to where to go next. If I were to bitch about it as a criticism, I'm sure many people wouldn't be so keen on me seeing that as a game design critique, let alone a fact. Just because you hate how many control options you have, doesn't make them shitty. You could play the game like RE4 and nothing would change.

Fair enough if you like the game but to act like other people dislike it solely because it's not scary is Grade-A bullshit.

There have been a bunch of posts in this topic that disagree with that thought. Hell, this very topic is a disagreement with the thought that people don't like RE6 because it doesn't stick to its roots.

You mean, in between their action packed games, including RE7. That's a great game for many reasons that have nothing to do with survival horror lol. RE2 was great, but that has more to do with the stuff they took from RE4 5 and 6, rather than what they took out.

It's not just Resident Evil. They killed off Lost Planet as well.

Capcom just can't compete in the AAA shooter market and they know it. Resident Evil 2 and 7 are great because they're focused and stay within their lane. It helps that the survival horror market doesn't have anywhere near as much competition. Resident Evil 6 just isn't as good as what it is going up against.

But like again if RE6 had a general consensus of having good mechanics we'd see more stuff lift from it. Which we saw from RE4. Which we saw from Dark Souls. RE6 is being ignored like it deserves.

Nope. Stamina meter, weak weapons, control constantly being taken away from the player to look at explosions, etc.

Also you can't really complain that I'm responding when you're also responding. Like either leave or keep posting. No need to keep whining about it. I'm talking about my opinions as well. I don't consider them fact and have never stated that they are.

It doesn't actually matter how good of a TPS it was because people were super bummed about how Capcom did their franchise a dirty by making it into some goofy Michael Bay bullshit (which it is). People who like it like it as a TPS though, because it actually is a good and innovative one of those. You actually see this now btw, the game has 82% positive ratings from the past month and 78% positive overall which is a far cry from when it first released because people kind of got over it being a molestation of the franchise, especially now that Capcom has shown that they still care about their roots with things like RE7 and the REmakes

I'm not opposed to action in RE (hell the action in this franchise started ramping up since 2) and I'd still rank RE6 only higher than RE0 and maybe CV.

Personally I wouldn't recommend RE6 unless you really loved the RE4/RE5, got way into mercs and want more. Which is a very specific taste.

If you're wanting to play an over the top Japanese third person shooter I'd point you towards Vanquish or Binary Domain.

It just ranks low for me against whatever I compare it to.

People can cool off on things over time. Hitman Absolution now has 95% recent positive reviews. I guess after a certain point the people who like that game stick around.

now we have RE3make coming out for horror lovers but RE8 will probably be experimental again. Capcom loves doing that with the franchise. Which is good and bad.

No other Resident Evil game has a better Mercenaries mode. I love RE4 but having to pause the game to choose a different weapon was ridiculous and not being able to move and shoot is stupid. That's why Mercenaries mode in 6 is the best yet.

I've finished 5 and 6 multiple times, (RE DC and RE2 original as a kid as well) but never have managed to get through the castle in 4.

Hoping to try again soon, dont know why I stop I just get bored of it I guess.

I've played all those except CV and I'd rank RE6 below all of them but Binary Domain. I'm not saying it's an amazing game or anything I just don't see why people try to poo poo its combat system, it clearly works well and actually does new and interesting things. It's probably the one thing it does well, besides the character performances/writing (which were strangely good at times)

I mean I get why you wouldn't agree if you didn't put much time into it, I guess. I actually found the controls and mechanics somewhat cumbersome and aggravating at first (probably until halfway through Leon's campaign, which I played first) until they finally started to click with me.

That's fucking crazy about Absolution though, can't believe it's that highly rated on Steam now. I don't actually remember exactly what they were when it launched but it was definitely not 95% positive. I need to play the rest of those, Blood Money was great
