Whats so special about it

It's a well written point and click RPG. It has absolutely no combat, instead focusing on investigation, puzzles, and dialogue. You're a pathetic detective who has amnesia after a week-long bender and you have complete control over what kind of person he is in the game. You can be anything ranging from a violent eat-the-rich communist to a straight up racist fascist. Your skills focus on spending points on different traits of your brain and body (empathy, logic, perception, hand-eye, paranoia, etc) and your thoughts are portrayed as conversations with yourself

Let me guess. You throw around "pretentious" and "Oscar bait" when talking about movie dramas.

I like unrefined games as much as anyone. Por que no los dos?

It's not for everyone, but it's great quality out of some no name Estonians. It has a unique artstyle, has some unique wrinkles on its genre, and has no technical issues to speak of.

I finished it last night. Overall, it's a fantastic game, but the ending was a bit disappointing.

i was under the impression it was going to be a crpg with a cop theme/aesthetic that would have skills and abilities that you put points into to deduce crime scenes, locate evidence, break into areas people don't want you in, and ascertain/apprehend the culprit. that sort of thing. instead it's this weird adventure game where you talk with your thoughts or something. i'll pass.

Most of the indie games nominated in the game award I've never even heard of. Disco Elysium seems okay if that's your thing, but the worst game from that bunch is GRIS. That shit got nominated for all the art awards, looked really cool and artsy.

It made me so fucking mad when I played it. It was just a walking simulator with a pretty opening animation. Absolutely nothing special about it, but it seemed so far up its own ass when it came to its art and style. Not to mention its price tag doesn't justify a 4 hour playthrough.

I'm still a little mad thinking about it. Glad I got it for free.
