LITERALLY EVERY CONVERSATION with him is him trying to explain things to us. he has an opinion on every fucking thing and its getting a fucking annoying. EXAMPLE he bought my girlfriends aunt a google home mini for christmas. her aunt isn't stupid. she has alot of tech stuff already. he LITERALLY got down on his knees like he was talking to a little kid (she was sitting) and was like "this is a google home mini. it works like this" and condescendingly explained it to her. wtf. then literally yesterday, we're talking about an issue my girlfriend's brother is having and he was like "He needs to move out, get out of this state, and live on his own. I know, i went though this" UH. WHO THE HELL ARE YOU. he's only know us for like less than a year and now hes saying our family members needs to LEAVE? If it doesn't look like that's going to happen...then someone needs to step in and set the guy straight on a number of things. He's clearly not going to do it himself. He's getting the message that nothing's wrong because no one is checking him on it... You can sit there and say "why should I have to step up for that". If not you, who will? The sister...? You talk like you're proud of your Asian heritage. Why not prove it further by refusing to stay silent? Hell the awkwardness of that alone will probably chase the guy away before the sister bothers to dump him. Or...OR...just maybe he might accept your complaints and check himself for the sake of staying with the sister. People can be convinced to adjust their behavior. If you don't believe that's also a possibility, you would be joining him in ignorance. He's like that because he's an asshole. You clearly have your own prejudices if you immediately jump to the first conclusion. Your sister could easily be dating an Asian guy that's overly opinionated or likes to offer advice when it's not wanted. It's not a race exclusive thing, just like being condescending toward the opposite (or even the same) sex isn't a gender exclusive thing. That being said, I'm dating a Filipina atm and I've never bothered to try explaining anything to her unless she specifically asks me about something. I've met a lot of her family and I listen to them and respect their differences and opinions.
