Take one of the best games of all time, and add more content to it, to the point where Midgar is an entire game unto itself.
Do this over the course of a 6-9 part series over 10 years. (Making this up)
Allow the user to transfer save data to the next series.

And now you have a game that's even more epic in proportions - that is assuming each game is 30-50 hours long.
But knowing Square Enix - this won't happen lol.

Very few companies have ever had this aggressive of a series before. Some have tried, but most have failed.

Since you reference Midgar I assume you meant to say Final Fantasy VII and not VIII.

I don't have much interest in remakes in general since I've got a backlog of new games as it is, but I had even less interest in this one after they announced it was episodic.

It's not even my favorite FF and I expect it to suck. Most old timers/original players will hate the changes, but new comers will say how great it looks

I expect the battle system to be shit.
