Probably only if someone made a deposit of $2 bills or if they ordered some for someone else (if they order them, theyre probably ordering a stack of a few hundred)

Just ask though, its nbd for them to order

I don't get why we waste money (LITERALLY) getting those $2 bills when no one uses them anyway >_> Do cashiers even accept them or would they be like "get that shit out of here"

Why wouldn't they accept them?

Lot of people don't know about $2 bills, so while the store might eventually accept it, they will give you problems before a superior gets involved.

It's a little different for places to not accept hundreds because of cash on hand in small businesses

fast food places don't accept hundreds. the bank nearby me wouldn't take hundreds had to go to the post office next door to get a money order before i could pay my rent to my landlord years ago.

Theres a recycling company in Houston whose commercials say they pay in $2 bills for some reason.

So theyre probably just old currency not yet out of circulation.

Businesses have the right to refuse your money for a transaction. In practice this means you can't buy a load of groceries with 4,048 pennies, but it also gives them the right to refuse dollar coins and $2 bills if they don't want to deal with them.

Creditors, however, have to accept any legal tender given by a debtor.

Ooh didn't think about that

The actual bill alone is unusual enough to be remembered for said tip as well

Because there was a time when the difference between $1 and $2 bill was as big as the difference between a $5 and $10 bill now. Inflation is a thing, dear.

but it also gives them the right to refuse dollar coins and $2 bills if they don't want to deal with them.

Perhaps, but there's no logical reason why they'd refuse a $2 bill. The bank will accept it and it can just be in the pile of cash with everything else. Dealing with thousands of pennies is a different issue since they have to be rolled and have to be counted on-site before they are accepted.

They can refuse transactions, but they have to say they don't take cash up front, not mid transaction. Also depends on state laws, state laws can say you have to take it.

They would basically have to refuse to sell to you

Awhile back I got a $5 red seal bill from Mack Donald's.

I wondered if they knew that it had a red stamp on it instead of green and questioned it.
