In the "Left Behind" books, unborn babies counted as pure souls and got raptured. The book describes this as the pregnant women deflating which shows a total lack of knowledge of how pregnancy works.

Two theories
1: depends on how far along the baby is. If it's before 8 weeks or so, it's considered a part of the mom and gets dusted along with her. If it's older than that, it just kind of falls onto the pavement and dies if it doesn't get dusted. If the baby gets dusted and not the mom, well... Fetus Deletus. 2: since the baby is connected to its mother and relies on her input to survive, it's considered a part of a mother.
