Holy hell there's no game here. I was making fun of all the complaining nerds before. The last Pokemon game I played was Black/White. This sucks I don't think I'll finish, what a chore

No, theres actually a lot less downtime in Sword/Shield than quite a few of the previous games in the series, but when people complain about stuff like this, its because they arent taking into account the countless ways that these games remove the most time consuming aspects that have plagued the series for so long.

Personally, Im enjoying Sword more than I enjoyed X at least. X/Y were disasters.

The beginning is needlessly padded with talking/tutorials. I wanted to jump in and play but instead had to go through like an hour of picking up assholes at a train station and wandering around with Hops dumb ass in the woods.

Once you get to the wild area it finally starts to feel like pokemon.

Its unfortunately something youll always have to deal with in modern Pokmon games

Anyways the fun for me is the online battling which is still mostly good

The game has tons of flaws and stupid changes though

I'm on gym 5 and feel like I've been on train tracks the whole time

I never played sun moon or xy, so can't compare

If this was not a Pokemon game and just a regular jrpg it would have abysmal reviews

it just feels like every other pokemon game and i think a lot of people are feeling bitter that they are outgrowing the same formula they've had for the past i dunno how many years

every pokemon ever has been 90% on rails. the only change has been that they've added more plot to it as the game goes along

The only thing I really hated about it was the fact that you got an infinite use escape rope and NOTHING to use it on. What even was the point? That and the stupid bike outfit.

The least fun I had in Pokemon was Moon/Ultra Moon.

Shield at least fixes some things I hated about Gen 7, but it's still pretty bad. Though, I went in with 0 expectations and so I naturally am finding small things here and there that I do like (mainly the music).

The Wild Area is nice for a proof-of-concept, but is rather shallow as well.

And yeah, Sword/Shield is definitely the weakest, easiest game so far.

Gen 5 was the peak of the series, and it's been downhill since. That said, Gen 7 is somewhat better than Gen 6, and you're better off playing the Ultra version of Sun/Moon, since it's the same story about 90% (though the new Ultra content is thrown into the existing story haphazardly, and Ultra also takes a hacksaw to Lusamine's character and motivations, probably intending to put her more inline with her anime version).

I literally gave up playing Pokemon Sun because of the endless dialogue and handholding. Think I finished the first "gym" and quit because the game was still in tutorial mode.
