Animals like chickens are not meant to eat a vegetarian (corn & soybean) diet, they are free roaming omnivores and need to eat insects and seeds to get their essential proteins and fats. If you've seen the difference between a commercial egg and a pasture raised egg, the commercial yolk is a pale yellow color while the pasture yolk is a deep amber.
