Would you see George's new trilogy?

Im curious to know what Lucas would do with a new trilogy. He needs to start making blockbusters again.

Not really no

His vision of Star Wars was always a story of the Skywalker family. That story is over now. The guy doesn't seem to have much interest in developing the universe beyond that.

He's in his 70s and the last time he made a blockbuster film everyone hated him and sent him death threats.

Bob Iger said that he bought Lucass scripts for a sequel trilogy, but told Lucas that there was no guarantee that they would use them.

I would, if only for the memes a new Lucas Trilogy would generate.

Heck, I'd settle for a comic, like how Dark Horse did "The Star Wars" right before they lost the license.

George Lucas put Jar Jar in the prequels because his kindergartener children created him and wanted him in the movies.

Lucas never expected the first Star Wars to even be a success, let alone an eventual trilogy, or a money-printing franchise. It was already successful by the time Disney got involved, so they had more breathing room to plan things out.

When will people realize that NONE of the Star Wars movies have been quality pieces of cinema.

Bringing Lucas back won't solve anything. The source material hasn't aged well, the lore has always been inconsistent and the franchise is still riding that nostalgia wave.

nope, didnt know that. tbh im a fairly casual sw fan so im probably out of my depth with this topic...
i dont hate the sequels at all, but they just seem sloppy concept wise compared to the lucas ones. chalked it up to too many hands in the pot and lack of planning...

here are some actual deleted scenes from A New Hope:

https://youtu.be/f00IkrWvur4

the movie was a complete mess until Lucas wife stepped in and edited it down to the masterpiece we have today.

Darth Vader being Lukes father wasnt decided until after the first film was released

Besides, I still need my animated Revan series.

Even then it wasn't decided on until several drafts into Empire

The first draft of the script had Luke being visited by Anakin's ghost before going off to fight Vader

Make? No. Consult. Yes.

As said, Lucas did a lot of twisting and rearranging and reworking of things in both the orignal and sequel tirlogies, enough to say he has a legitimate talent for arranging alot of ideas into a great story. The man just can write dialogue and never could (something even he would admit) and isn't a great director with actors that need a more active hand in their roles.

Let him into the writers room when trying to get the script together and we can have magic, but I doubt he would do well at making the whole movie, and it may jsut kill him if he tried.

I doubt he would ever do it. All the characters he created are dead so there's nowhere left from what he made. He would have to start brand new, and sometime in the future so he can ignore everything that Disney did since he wasn't a fan of it. Not to mention the fact that Disney shit on everything he had in mind for their trilogy so my guess is he would tell them to get fuck themselves.

And even if by some one is a million chance he did agree to do one, I'm sure he would want an ironclad contract that all creative decisions are his and his alone and Disney cannot change anything without his permission or else the whole movie gets scrapped and/or they owe him more money then they would even make from it. Disney of course would never agree to this, and Lucas would never do a movie without this. So a George Lucas trilogy is pretty much never happening.

Except Lando, Wedge and Chewie, regardless of how much better the story would have been if Chewie had actually died like he was clearly supposed to before Disney stepped in.

Come to think, Lando probably wasn't a Lucas brainchild anyway. Of course, I'm not gonna bother confirming that lol.
