But some shows just don't translate to the big screen too well. Especially with Hollywood's ongoing addiction to CG-ing the shit out of live action movies. For the amount of money the spent on this weird CG mash up they probably could have done a fully animated movie instead that was less jarring and probably cheaper. This feels like someone dared to dream big and miscalculated the logistics, or they purposely tried to screw up. But you're not wrong about some things not translating well to begin with. I don't totally buy that since Les Misrables did astoundingly well as a film though.
