Damn, Minecraft really caught up. I also should've included Witcher 3, that game is an absolute master class and will go down as one of the best games of all time.

Should have worded the title differently because some of those games you posted arent even good. Joke list. You dont even have games like Witcher 3, Breath of the Wild, or Bloodborne. Play more video games.

it's not like the title says best game of the decade either. many "______ of the year/decade/century/etc" are about influencialness rather than trying to make a statement about which was best

my vote would have been Dark Souls, but Demon's Souls came out about two years before, and Dark Souls wasn't much of a notable leap from it (maybe its open world; idk). it's like giving credit for games inspired by the Batman Arkham series (also pretty influential) on Arkham City instead of Arkham Asylum, IMO.

I haven't played the other games on the list.

The main reason I and others name dark souls first is because demons souls didn't really make the same impact, due to being ps3 exclusive and poorly advertised. Add to that the fact that the souls like genre uses the more traditional open world of dark souls more than the hub world of demons souls and I'm comfortable keeping it

In terms of influence either LoL or Minecraft. Tbh despite coming out after I might still have put Fortnite on over Pubg. Feels like Pubg just kind of went away after a year and Fortnite is a cultural phenomenon.

As someone who has played League for years until I gave it up, that's not true. I'm willing to bet the balancing and matchmaking is still awful and Riot is still incompetent just like how they were when I played the game obsessively.

Balancing is hit and miss, but not nearly as awful as it was. Matchmaking is fantastic and easily the best in the genre. The game has fixed a ton of issues and Riot has more than proven themselves to be a worthwhile company.

If I had to choose from those options I would choose Minecraft. The only other game I played on there was Dark Souls which I really did not like.

if I could choose any game, It would go to GTAV. When you make the most successful piece of media ever created, it is tough to not choose it. While not my favorite, I would have to give it to GTA

If your trying to argue based on impact on gaming over the decade its without question team fortress 2 going free to play and creating lootboxes in mainstream games. This became the plague that dominated every genre for the decade to the point we praise a game for not having exploitative gambling mechanics that prey on children.

But valve fanbois get really angry when you talk about how valve does everything they hate in gaming...except when valve does it.

Loot boxes are a good point, but free to play was popular well before that.

Smash Bros Ultimate. Best fighting game, tons of content without purchasing DLC. Nintendo has outdid themselves this gen.
