A lot of things, but there are a lot of people who are afraid of the future. Easy access to information has made them aware of a world that is mostly not like where they live, and it's intimidating.

"Fake news" is easy to spread and, or news that plays to people's fears and stokes their suspicions of folk. It makes it incredibly easy to blame anyone but the actual source of their issues.

Pc culture is obviously the answer.

The pc liberals these days remind me of the religious right when i was growing up in the 90s and early 2000s. The vast majority of people dont want to hear that bullshit, regardless what end of the spectrum you're on.

But that's just the way it is. Politics is a pendulum. It swings back and forth.

You're kinda right, but in the same way that Ralph Wiggums might be right. You said a thing that can be technically correct, but the logic isn't there.

There have always been xenophobic and bigoted groups among us. They're reacting hard to how the world is changing against that tribalism.

This isn't some big surprise. It's a weird space, where the the very old and very young are in some sort of agreement, but yes, kids will rail against any establishment, and we've established that minorities deserve the same rights.

The perception is enough to be considered the culture to be counter to. Liberals aren't the old white men with money, but they have established a perception that rights for minorities are a big deal, even when the government is really shit at enforcing that.

Hell, you have lesser-minded people on this site who earnestly believe straight white men, as a group, have it the worst. That's how powerful perception is, however misguided.

Online perception of culture is massively distorted when compared to the vast majority and in almost every situation in which you hold it you are getting a very small portion of opinions out of a much larger and engrained whole where conservative values are the status quo and anything counter to them will always be considered subversive and dangerous.

people getting mad about women in video games on 4chan or people yelling about getting banned on twitter by the sjws will always undoubtably be a small, weak, and insignificant voice. The fact is is that while conservatives think theyre being cool and edgy they have completely failed to see they have been winning for decades. We have zero support for any sort of meaningful labor movement in this country and have not for a long time, we still implicitly trust corporations and the police, and our politics are so dominated by conservatism that calling anyone left of republican a socialist underminer is still a legitimate tactic

if these people saw British punk bands shit talking thatcher their logic would have lead them to believe she was some kind of badass rebel

They are an absolute minority of the younger generation though. The younger generation is heavily not conservative no matter how loud current conservatives claim otherwise.

Yes you get trolls and racists shouting, but Gen Z is by far the most progressive one and even the conservative ones stand by many of their progressive stances.

Not nearly to the extend of this decade. Nearly triple the shootings compared to last decade, and shit that was kept to the internet made leaked out into real life when it came to bigotry.
