Example: I Have never commited a single crime in my life, I do not so much as drink caffeine I am such a health freak. But because I have a huge muscular frame and long hair, cops constantly target and harass me in quite horrible ways.

You know those kids who ate lunch in the library or with their favorite professors between forensics meets, saturday science, and GATE? That was me, after I joined Marines. Where I asked to not have to repeat the cajins because they had curse words and demeaned women, so they made me do girl scout mottos instead. Later they also made fun of me for being the only marine to not drink alcohol.

I do not even go a couple of miles over the speed limit

But thanks for acting like cops have a justifiable right to make my life miserable because of assumptions.

Not an american but i was in america recently. The cops burst into the hotel i was in and woke me up shouting "get on the ground". I didnt dare leave my room but i think i heard a tazer go off and they were gone soon after that (lots of noise the entire time though)

Im sure they were just arresting some drunk person downstairs in the lobby. That made my night better

I can honestly say that whenever I see or near a cop, I dont feel safe and secure.

i'm white
they've never done anything directly beneficial to me, ie i've never been in a situation where i needed them and they helped
they've caused me various troubles by doing their job when i've broken laws and gotten caught

overall i'd call it indifferent
when i got sideways with the law/lawmen then it was on me because i was already breaking the law(s)

Minority here. Pulled over twice for "suspected" DUI. I'm thankful that I only received a warning as a penalty. Could have easily gotten in much more trouble.

They haven't done anything terribly bad to me, but they've never really helped. I ultimately err more on the side of Will than Carlton.

Cops have overall treated me fairly. In my entire life I've only received two speeding tickets, both which were justified, from them. I have been stopped by them at other points for minor things like burned out headlight, forgetting to put the new sticker on my plate, etc. and they've always been pleasant and told me just to get it fixed as soon as I can and didn't give me a citation. And not that race matters, but I'm black.

I've been a victim of a crime twice, and both times the cops were incredibly helpful. But then again the perpetrators were black both times so maybe that's why lol

Probably the best thing a cop has done for me was when I got in my first car accident (not my fault), they were in an unmarked vehicle a few cars back and were able to step in and make sure everything and everyone was taken care of and redirect traffic, and be a credible witness so there wasnt any dispute over what happened. Nobody was hurt but both vehicles were disabled so they got the towing arranged.

Worst thing was losing $200 because of a speeding ticket (not really a fair one but whatever)

Basically this for me. I was questioned once for walking to college, and pulled over in the middle of the night for a busted taillight. Both instances ended peacefully thank God, but the taillight one had me scared. Saw him place his hand on his gun, and there'd be no witnesses if he decided to do something.

Even where I work at, interacting with police makes me a bit uneasy.

These results are what I expected.

I noticed cops treat white people really badly compared to minorities.

I was wondering if it was wear I lived last 3 times, or a country wide thing.

I think it has to do with the belief it is ok to be predjudice against white people but not minorities.

Even if endless white people are killed by cops even children in horrible ways. No one cares, but the single rare black instance and people go nuts.

Cops have learned to treat minorities insanely better than white people.

Of course US culture has taught us there is no such thing as white racism so I will be discounted as crazy, even if the above poll shows I am right.

I would dispute that. Real detectives aren't like what you see on some TNT cop show. They're mostly morons who have no actual detective skills.

That's not even remotely true. Yeah they're not columbo or monk but they're usually degreed in criminal Justice and have teams of forensic experts helping them out.

They haven't made my life in any obvious direct ways I can think of; nothing significant anyways. Only thing I can think of is when my car battery went to **** mid-drive over a year ago and I had to pull over. Cop pulled over to make sure I was okay and a tow truck was coming, and made sure any coming cars avoided my car.

Never really had any BS moments with cops and have been treated fairly. Only time I'm ever uneasy around police is when I'm driving.

I lived in projects as a child and was in Marine Corps (which is mostly minorities because they are way tougher and stronger than average white person.)

Say what you want but cops walk on egg shells around minorities. This is reality, the rare examples in news are met to skew your perception on reality for views.

I am sorry if you think this is racism instead of fact.
