The commentators perhaps Acti or both getting pressured by China.

most likely due to activision.

they are currently trying to get china to allow their call of duty mobile game there, and this would actually help them tremendously to sway china into allowing it.

however, blizzard probably also plays a large part in this, because when the diablo mobile game comes out, they're also going to want it in china.

Will it be better if in the future Blizzard bans anyone who makes comments on world events during interviews, so if someone yells "**** Trump!" or "**** Bernie Sanders!", they get banned too?

In actuality, old Blizzard doesn't really exist anymore.

Sure, the division is Blizzard still technically exists, but they have no autonomy or authority. They are at Activision's mercy.

They were picked apart by Activision after their last few games failed to meet sales expectations.

The fact that Activision has pretty much gotten off scott free from this is pretty lucky on their part, I guess because most people don't know or remember that Activison owns Blizzard.

You should probably just boycott Activision because of how anti-consumer they are in general, and how hard they're pushing to advance all the worst elements of microtransactions in games.

People always tend to shit on EA as being the worst publisher ever, but Activision is right up there with them in terms of scummy behavior.

It's a lot more complicated than that, though.

And honestly, "what he signed" was more ambiguous than the ToS on this site. A lot of it basically boils down to "Don't say or do anything, ever, because Blizzard gets to decide what's offensive and what isn't." It's not as if it was specific enough to "don't take political stances" or "don't advocate human rights if it hurts a government's feelings."
