When I was 18 me and my friends and girlfriend were hanging out in my friend's basement and playing guitar hero.

Me and my girlfriend left for a couple hours to go do sexy time and smoke stogies.

We came back and surveyed the scene and it was pathetic. These people were still playing videogames. The only indication that any time had passed was the empty soda cans and food wrappers.

It was at this point that I realized videogames were a shallow waste of time and I've never played since

I've grown out of games in the sense that I don't have time and it's not as enjoyable as they once were, but if people still enjoy playing games until they're 70 of 80 then they should continue to play when they want.

You dont have 10+ hours, but you play when you can. I myself have about 2 hours a night of free time once the kid is asleep, so i use that time to cycle between 3 activities; reading, watching something, or gaming.

At (soon to be) 42 I still play video games. Pretty much just Warframe for the last year or so. I play in evenings/weekends when I have the time and when I don't, I don't play. I think I am at the point where I am less interested in games in general, as in I don't play multiple different games anymore. Before I started Warframe all I played was BotW for almost a year. And I'll probably play the upcoming sequel at some point.

TV/movies are much more of a waste of time, to me, because I just don't enjoy them much anymore. Once and a while, recently Creed 2, my wife and I will watch a movie together. But we rarely share the same interests so most of the time she's watching what she wants when I play Warframe.

It's a hobby like any other. You don't so much age out of it as get your priorities straight. If you have all your ducks in a row, there's no reason to not play just because Generation X told you they're for kids lol.

After everyone else goes to sleep is when I do my gaming. Baby DevsBro is usually out by 8, sometimes as early as 630. Mrs. DevsBro goes to be around 10, and she needs her personal time too so sometimes we head to separate rooms by 8 or 9. Which gives me a good 2-4 hrs per day for my own hobbies--mostly gaming, but also movies, tinkering, programming, and a couple of years ago I even designed a CPU in my spare time.

I read a Wikipedia page once about a guy who lived like 26k years lol. It wasn't even phrased as "was said to have..." It was phrased as factually as anything else.

Which, I mean, I wasn't there so even if it seems unlikely/impossible, you never know and all, but if it were my article, I would have at least acknowledged the obvious uncanny nature of the thing.

When I tried searching for it again a little while later, I couldn't find it, so I guess it got edited or removed lol.

time commitment is too much for a working adult, it's pretty obvious most games are aimed at a younger demographic than me, & i feel like a loser trying to play a multiplayer game and strategize with 15 year olds or w/e on the internet lol

There was this one time I was going to help someone out on Warframe farm a frame they needed. Ended up being a 14 year old kid that never stopped talking :-/

But then I play 90% of the game offline solo and only usually play online when I need help or if one of few people I do like playing online with hit me up.

I play mostly arcade style games these days, which can often be beaten in an hour or so. It's actually less time consuming than movies or especially TV shows. But it is true I don't do RPGs any more because of this.

There are so many older games that I didn't have the opportunity to play as a kid, though. You could beat a 16-bit platformer every day for a year and still not get through them all probably lol
