Its the most comfortable. It has dual functioning analog. And digital shoulder buttons. No one else has adopted this style, despite it being incredibly useful across platforms.

Analog inputs allow for the level of throttle/brake control that is necessary in games that are more sim-like.

I mean, I don't know. The GC controller is perfect for certain games but you wouldn't want to play a lot of PS4 or Xbox games on there. I think the Switch pro controller is probably the best controller of all time all things considered

Lol the ergonomics are phenomenal. Melee players could fuck up an anvil with a rubber mallet. They literally tore the analog buttons off of their 3DSs.

I don't think I could play Viewtiful Joe with any other controller. If that came to steam I'd buy an adapter just to use my GC controller with it.

I can dream, right? He was in Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Okami came to steam, so there's hope....

Both sticks are garbage that slip and deteriorate. Bad textures and materials. Shoulder buttons have very little resistance to allow for precision. C-Stick is easily the worst "dual stick" I've ever used--Trying to reliably use that for camera control is miserable compared to anything in the next generation. No LS3 and RS3 buttons. No select button.

Face buttons are fine I guess.

Now I may be remembering incorrectly, but I was pretty sure they were analog. At the very least, they were three-level.

Also, it had probably the worst D-pad of all time, lack of L1 and select, and the asymmetric joystick placement. And this one might just be me but I always got the X and Y buttons mixed up.

The only thing it's good at is Smash, I'd rather have a more traditional controller to play everything else.

For my money, the best controller is the XBONE, and I've had/used most first party controllers. The Switch pro controller would be up there if the D-Pad worked.

The XbOne controller is almost exactly the same as the 360 controllers, and those were traaaaash. Lets not even get into the drifting issue.

GC controller was always solid. I picked up a wavebird back in the day so I could enjoy wireless.

Not sure if ps2 or xbox had wireless controllers.
