Well, lots of people use them while out. Which is harder with a PC thats at home. You could use a laptop, but its not the best when just going to the store, or waiting in line somewhere. Some people use them for work. Youre pretty different than most normal people, as well. People use their phones for a lot these days. So, $1000+ for some can be very useful. Even if it wouldnt be for you... As for typing, to each their own...

Every person that I have known who say they require a $1000 phone actually don't. They don't work special jobs that need them. They don't own government secrets that require layers of protection and encrypted passwords only the best can crack

They are only people who use their phones for whatever is currently popular for apps, texting and phone calls. They must buy the newest version phone for (insert reason this time) and will be late on their bills while sacrificing on their needs and children's needs to get it

I use my phone to cast YouTube and other videos to my tv
It's handy for mobile browsing when you go out and do things
It has a fantastic camera and I can do photo editing on the go
Plus it's my personal organizer, communicator, and general handy tool

From my experience people who have the least amount of money have the nicest phones.

That doesn't mean everyone with nice phones is poor, but people with just enough money to spare seem to set aside just enough for that iPhone 8+.

I play a lot of heavy requirement mobile games and often multitask on it. So I have always bought the Samsung notes as it is very good at multitasking.

I mean at the end of the day I can afford it, and I like having nice things. I had my Samsung Galaxy S7 for a few years and it was capping pit on me, so I got an S10 and I make monthly payments on it. If I'm gonna spend money in a new phone, I may as well get one of the better ones.

They make for GREAT paper weights

People I know who fork out serious cash for phones are usually the ones who like to show off to say I have a high end brand. Addicted to phones and I mean addicted cant even walk without being glued to it, hate phone zombies. Just love browsing web, social media and selfie galore. They dont really have other hobbies so the money they do have they feel the need to spend it yearly on something big and a phone is usually it rather than something else. Truth too not making fun of them but that is the reason. I still have a 3 year old phone and most likely will for another 2 more years before I finally upgrade

I bought a $250 phone a year ago. I kind of want a phone that can load apps instantly so I can just pull it out of my pocket and instantly look at my finances. I have no desire for anything else.

Last time I upgraded because I was sick of my phone crashing every single hour on Android version 1.0.shit. I actually paid attention once, it literally crashed 50% of the time I used it. I think I had to make an emergency call once and I literally couldn't because it was so unstable. I'm amazed anyone used Android back then, like 7(?) years ago.

I have a $1000 phone and i use it mainly for calling and texting.

But if i need to check if there are any game stores in the next town or what time trains are it's nice to be able to do that wherever i happen to be. Plus: Siege Hero!

I don't need a brand new $1000 phone, but I need a good phone because I use it for work. It's not that I do anything super complicated, but it's helpful to have a fast phone when you do a lot of scheduling, and you're switching between 2-3 different scheduling apps.

I also process invoices, transactions, and
message clients throughout the day via several different messaging apps. Additionally, I post on my business's social media from my phone, so it helps to have a good camera. I upgraded from a Galaxy S5 to an S9 last year, and work goes much smoother when I have a fast phone.

Im not going to argue over the pricing. But a phone in general just does what a PC cannot, and that is being mobile. A PC is only ever good when you are actually sitting at the PC.

So having an expensive or cheap phone is just up to the user, obviously. I dont care what anyone decides to use their money for, and neither should anyone else unless you are the persons guardian.

I dont even own a computer. Everything I do online is via phone. And a lot of things I do offline is also by phone.

My school requires me to get a new laptop though, so Ill be buying one soon.

I like the pen functionality of the Galaxy Note, which is Samsung's top of the line. But I'm fine with having a slightly older model, so that saves a ton. I currently have the Note Edge, which was the curved screen version of the Note 4. I'm thinking of buying a refurbed Note 8 when the Note 10 comes out. They're currently running about $375 on Amazon, and that'll probably go way down in another month or so.
