There was no "gun violence archive" webpage back in the 70s, where people could contribute such news stories of mass shootings after mining the internet. You were at best limited to a few researchers who had access to limited databases.

Well if you search the shooter's name on google images the picture of what is supposedly the shooter is there. Key word there in bold.

As for not showing the shooter's image, it maybe because they were shot dead and thus there's really no need to really show it since it's not like they're at large. Or perhaps the media is trying to prevent copycat shooters from being inspired (it could be possible that he had manifesto like the Christchurch shooter and they're suppressing that). News outlets has revealed his name though.

He is (or was. His names DeWayne Antonio Craddock should clue anyone in), and there was plenty of such rhetoric on twitter at least. Nearly every tweet I saw was about his blackness. The rest were news accounts just reporting the facts as they unfolded.

Those guys are usually taken in alive, and thus the case is ongoing. This guy is dead. Plus it's a work place shooting. Those rarely get as much attention as a school shooting no matter how many are killed.

article said he worked there for 15 years and used his id badge but also the guns were brought legally (still a problem though). hmmm aside from possibly mentally unstable, doesn't seem like the guy had a good 15 years working there and just worked to collect a paycheck (which is also a sad reality of US workers)

Seems it was the case, but the fact that it was a case of a guy just going postal seems to have relegated that to more of a gentle sigh and a "thank god it wasnt another right wing dude"

The NYT article had a pretty scary story of a dude who he worked with being there and pleading with him to stop and him just staring at him emptily before turning and walking away. It's creepy to imagine what must have been going through both of their heads at that moment.

lolololol, I'm glad I never made time for Twitter. it always sucks to be a casualty of something horrendous, but for it to take a backseat to somebody's political views would probably make me bitter for a while, lol.

As for the letter,

Officials would not discuss what Craddock wrote in his resignation, but a person familiar with the email said it was short and there was "nothing out of the ordinary."

"He merely submitted his two weeks' notice," said the person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing. "There was no foreshadowing of anything that resulted the rest of the day."

Sadly, this could turn into one of those cases where we'll never really know what set this guy off. Like that guy in Las Vegas.

Just what I've been told by people I know who were on anti-depressants. Also from small amount of research that does link the rise in shootings to the widespread use of certain anti-depressants.
