Just drove half an hour away to the middle of god damn nowhere and ended up in some gated community around a lake.

Called my passenger to ask for the gate code or for him to meet me at the gate.

"What? I'm already in my Uber, sorry" *hangs up*

Dude probably got Dexter'd.

Drove half an hour back to town and didn't get a single request because no one else lives out in that god forsaken area.

God damn it

Oh well, still ended up with $60 for 2.5 hours of driving, not counting that wasted hour long round trip.

This kinda topic has come up before. Also it's interesting how common this is. I once confused a black sedan uber with another black sedan. Mine was a Hyundai but I went into a Honda that also thought I was his passenger.

Most uber drivers know to verify the passenger name before starting their journey.

I went out for about 1.5 hours tonight when i got off work and made $50. I got tired or else would have been out longer.

Why would you drive so far to Uber someone?

I would have done it just to kick the hell out of that gate. I bet it was a nice gate too.

You get a pickup premium for those long pickups, and chances are he was going into town(assuming because where the hell else would he be going since there was literally nothing for miles) so it would've been like a $20-30 ride. I only wanted to make 50 bucks tonight and made 20 on my first trip so figured I could go home early by taking that one.

New rule: if the pickup is over 15 minutes away I'm denying the request.

I thought there would be. I've canceled on someone not being there before and got paid 5 bucks for it and that was a short ass drive. I tried contacting Uber but their customer support is literally the most worthless excuse for "support" in the history of support.

Isn't this why Uber drivers always ask for your name?

Yea it is faq only. They really make it hard to email. No phone

After this they babyproofed the app, telling people to check license plates.

can anyone teach me how to uber?

it was outlawed here and i never got around to using it until then since our public transportation is great.
however, i once went to paris and couldn't make the last metro back to the hotel and had to walk around for an hour before we came across a regular ass taxi.

i was wondering why random ass cars picked people up from the road and realized that uber was a thing and fiddled with my phone which only had like 5% battery left.
