i think GWB is worse in terms of active policy, and we've been in a civil war partly due to administrative incompetence

I mean as much as I hate Trumpo, there's a few like James Buchanan who were catastrophically bad. Trump is a jackass in political power, but until he leads us to a massive war that significantly alters the future of the U.S, he won't be absolutely the worst. That would give him too much credit.

The guy has literally done nothing for the country. He has zero sense of responsibility, has zero concept of foreign relations, has zero sense of leadership, and he has spent the majority of his presidency golfing and shit posting on Twitter.

Besides that, he's had an absurdly high turnover rate of Secretaries, we still don't even have a Secretary of Defense going on half a year now. It's just miserable.

On the other hand, remember that it's pretty standard of colonialism to kill native populations and steal their land. The modern bourgeois population is actually very thankful that the land was stolen and ultimately benefited them, so they won't acknowledge the cruelty of presidents like Andrew Jackson.

Them you have Trump who has actively harmed the country. He doesn't need to be around in 20 years to still be harming us, remember all those judicial lifetime appointees he's had approved? They include at least a half dozen who the BAR association has spoken out against. And one of them is in the SCOTUS. There's also all of the department heads he's put in place who have stripped a bunch of policies approved over the last century, making it so you have the EPA arguing in favor of corporations being able to dump known toxins in actively used waterways. Basically every protection at a national level for transgender people is gone and protections for LGB people are also less secure than they were. Oh, and the department of education is refusing to actually enforce anything like making sure schools have handicap accessibility, they won't hear any discrimination claims against schools by transgender students, and the department itself is working to make student loans even more unforgiving while also stripping funding for public schools nationwide. Let's not forget Trump's ICE gestapo stuff targeting any brown people speaking Spanish, even at the Northern border. Oh, and ICE straight up refusing to pick up Europeans who overstayed their Visas who have attempted to turn themselves in for deportation.

Know what the biggest issue with comparing Jackson and Trump is? At least Andrew Jackson, racist bastard he was, could claim that the natives weren't American and that made victimizing them slightly more tolerable to the citizens at the time. Trump's targeting vulnerable minorities, especially American ones because he knows that the situation at the southern border will probably be resolved within a year or two of a Democrat taking office. Getting all this nondiscrimination protections back in place? With Republican opposition, most won't be returned and actually enforced until at least a decade after all Boomers die out. He's pushed back trans rights by more than an entire generation in under 3 years. It'll get worse if he's reelected.
