Then each individual party member fighting against a body part that they're not strong against
Space ship solo battle for Jaster

Of them, Zegram, Deigo and Simon were the hardest because two of the characters have a terrible array of attacks and one isn't even viable as an ai party member anyways, and Zegram just had a really tough boss because you don't have time to finish two whole basic attack combos most of the time. Plus the read mechanic really slows you down to keep you from spamming those attacks.

Final Fantasy 9: Necron. IIRC he has one or two regular high-damage attacks with built in crippling status ailments - a classy final boss splits them up. But this wouldn't be as irritating to deal with if he wasn't a tacked-on rando.

Any boss that requires you to go through a lengthy unskippable cutscene every time you attempt it.

E.g. FFX. Boss wasn't that hard, but having to watch all that guff beforehand takes like 20 minutes.

Dire Miralis in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Feels almost impossible to beat him solo cause of his inflated health

The level 100 Super Deviants from Generations Ultimate are rough too

It doesn't help that the boss has a lot of HP, multiple forms, hp drain moves, and a lot of defence piercing moves. Means if you built tanky, it takes forever, a lot of your stats are ignored, and it has two massive cutscenes in it
