Robotnik sounds like a viable villain name. Eggman sounds like a half assed cheesy villain name.
So all in all it's pretty fitting Robotnik was the recognized name when Sonic was actually good and Eggman is the recognized name now --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

When I played Sonic Adventure the first time on the DC I was really confused and wondering why they changed his name, I had no idea that was another name for him until them --- ...
