I don't remember being horribly bad at fighting games.

Only possibly conclusion: this game is extremely slow to unlock characters. Plenty of filler, like those "spirit" things, but that's not quite the same as actual, good content.

On an unrelated note, I'm thinking of starting up a beverages company. You get this huge bottle of juice for a low price, but you can only drink a tenth of it.

Apparently if you are doing it one way (I forget which way) if you quit and go back to the main menu every so often it speeds up when they get unlocked.

I know what they told me, but I've lost every fight where you unlock a character. Also, I looked, and didn't see any options to replace them.

But you only get one chance to beat them. You can continue at least a few times with the other fights.

you should be getting new challengers at the end of each run of classic mode, if you play with a new character each time.

at least, that was my experience.

Ok then you can't blame the game for being slow when you're getting the opportunities and failing.

So you don't see the golden door in the corner of the blue menu? It should definitely be there if you haven't beaten anyone.

we've explained this to you multiple times.

if you fail to beat a new challenger, go to the "Games and More" section of the main menu and on the lower-right will be a door. click on that and you'll get another shot to beat the new challengers.

I haven't touched this franchise since Melee and I unlocked a character it 10 min.

Its almost impossible to not have unlocked anything by this point. Especially if you're beating the classic mode

Pick up and play? I'd say it's not particularly pick up and play at all. Think less FPSs and platformers, and more something like a real time strategy game. You know, where you spent a few hours learning relatively basic stuff.

Except Tiberium Sun and Red Alert 2 are excellent games. I doubt this is.

Please Snu, if youre playing at the proper difficulty level you shouldnt have to retry often in Classic. And you should have a few characters unlocked because the first ones are EASIER than classic.

If its too difficult for you, theres a few unlockable characters at the start of Spirits mode too.. but its much much slower doing it that way overall.

I bought a Smash game after all these years, didn't I? I've played it a bit?

I just...don't think it's that enjoyable. Plus, it's too hard and unlocking stuff is too slow. I didn't expect the hardcore Smash fans on this board to take it well (lulz), but calm down. It's certainly no Soul Calibur 1 (although I guess you could argue that it's not trying to be).

Ironically, it's usually the Smash fans who are complaining a lot about a new Smash game. I guess things have flipped this time, with a newbie complaining about it, and the hardcore fans generally liking it.
