isnt a big deal? You do realize this puts those members of Seal Team Five at risk now because their operational effectiveness has now been shot to hell. Their faces will be circulated through every terrorist network available. They can no longer operate covertly because of this compromise. You do know how much bounties for Navy Seal Team members go for?

With social media they can use the identities obtained to even find the families of these Marines.

Revealing them casually, through an unusual media exposure even if its the commander in chief, would prove a propaganda boom if any of this personnel are detained by a hostile government or captured by a terrorist group. There would be no denying who you are and what you do.

I have never to my recall any instance where Navy Seals have had their identities knowingly shown for a photo OP. If you can find any instance of that please forward that along.

Where is the DOD policy indicating that is a requirement? Is it courteous to the operator? Sure. But if it's a requirement I would be interested in reading the PAO policy regarding it.

I served as an army green beret for 5 years out of my 10 years of military service. I knew when to take pictures and I knew when not to. I did enough congressional meet and greets and shows to know that blurring faces doesn't always happen.

Oh but the terrorists know!! What are the individuals names? Where do they live? This is a non issue.
