It was loose and it turns out the X button broke off from the face button pad thingy, so I took the face button pad from my other broken PSP and put it in. It works so much better now.

Fixing Sony's mistakes SMH. Nintendo's handhelds never had these problems. Still love my PSP tho.

I can play Star Ocean for my Birthday tomorrow.

I've had bad luck with Sony consoles. I had to disassemble my ps2 at least 10 times, and there's a sticker inside that, when broken, voids the warranty. I like Nintendo and Microsoft though.

Microsoft with the OG Xbox tho. I'm glad I caught this in time:

My Xbox was freezing often, thankfully I removed the capacitor and cleaned it and it works fine now...although the disc drives on OG Xbox are still shit and I expect that to die too.

The plastic cover came off of mine, but the stick underneath is still intact. I just need to get around to supergluing the cover back on.

It's not a Sony problem. Things break or wear out. Good that you were able to fix it, some won't even open a device.

Yeah that's what happened. I can still use it but it's uncomfortable. Hundreds of hours of Hunting Monsters will do that I suppose

I get that things wear out but the PSP really seems like it was just poorly designed to be unreliable. My old Nintendo handhelds going back to Gameboy color never had problems like this. Sony could have at least designed the buttons more like the Playstation dualshock controllers. Just wtf at PSPs cheap material used for the buttons X__X

Those stickers aren't legally binding.

Does anyone still have a PSP within warranty anyway?

I used mine a good amount and didn't have any problems. The rubber pads in controllers do tend to last a long time but I've worn out a couple that got mushy like my Aimon. Not handhelds.

Both PSP and Xbox has those stickers too. Sony and Microsoft don't do repairs on their older consoles anymore though. By the time you actually need your stuff repaired the companies will have long stopped doing them so the stickers are eventually pointless anyway.
