My dad loved using the Super Scope for SNES. He would actually calibrate it each time and then we took turns going through levels in the game that came with it.

Nope. My dad got me into games but I think it was more of a spoil me since he's barely around thing. Truck driver life. My mom doesn't play games. I played one those arcade cabinet golf games with him once.

Yeah, my mom actually beat the boss Thwomp in Super Mario 64 for me because I asked her to try it

She also played Dr. Mario 64 with me several times (she played highest difficulty)

My dad was military, so he had an extra snes when he'd go out of country for a year or 6 months. And a Gameboy. We played Mario Kart, Mario Paint, DKC and many platformers. He also used to take me to the arcade for Turtles in Time, MK2, and SF2. He really likes flight simulators and casino games too

That was the only the only generation that he played with me outside of the occasional NFL Blitz match. My mom was awful, so she never played. All I remember was people lapping her in Mario Kart because she'd fall off stage and then drive the wrong way

My mother plays video games all the time - its one of the few things we do together without resulting in her having a meltdown, lol. My father doesnt really do video games or anything of the sort.

My parents played video games on the NES, which I was a little too young to appreciate at the time. I mostly started gaming on the SNES, at that point games started to get too complicated for them.

Very rarely. Like, I remember my dad playing Mario Golf with me once or twice, and my mom liked when I got Namco Museum for Gamecube, but that's about it

My mom goddamn loved Chip's Challenge so I would help her play that. She would also play a lot of Mario Kart on the SNES with me.

My dad used to like arcade games, and he had an Atari 2600 before I was born. Since I've been alive he hasn't especially liked a multiplayer game since like mortal kombat 2 but we helped each other get through lots of GB and GBC games when I was younger

Mom played C64 games with me when I was a little kid. Stuff like Bubble Bobble and Arkanoid.

I attempted to get my mom to play games with me sometimes, but she just never got it. And I hated having to explain the controls every time and then watch her do the exact opposite of everything I just said.

my grandma was into tetris on the OG gameboy and would play platformers like Aladdin on the SNES
my dad would play Tekken with my brother and I growing up. he still plays the newest call of duty's on PS4 as well

My dad got me into games. Used to play Street Fighter with him when I was 4 or 5 then watched him play stuff like Half Life and Carmageddon. We used to play Battlefield 1942 and Unreal Tournament via LAN. Now whenever he comes up to visit we'll play some games and get drunk. Lately it's been Mario Kart. I'm going home for Christmas so I'll take my Switch and we'll play Mario Kart and maybe some Smash. He's also started playing Pokemon Go after seeing me on it.

Oh yeah, my dad helped me start playing Street Fighter 2 when I was 5. I think he also played Sunset Riders and a few racing games with me too. Daytona USA for sure.

My dad played games with me from Atari to PS1 era. Then he transitioned into a PC gamer. Now he plays a lot of tablet games and will join in on Switch games during the holidays.

Most of the time it was stuff like Dr. Mario, Yoshi's Cookie, Klax, Tetris 2, etc. Pretty much any 2-player puzzle game on the NES was their jam. There was also of course Super Mario Bros. 1&3.

But on rare occasions me and my siblings got our mom to play stuff like Sonic 2&3 (she was sometimes better at being Tails than we were) and Secret of Mana (always went for Sprite). Starting from PS1/N64 era and up though, they stuck to mostly just watching us play.

My dad is a pretty hardcore gamer, and was the one that got me, my brother, and my sister into gaming coming up. He used to rent a different game every single friday for the nes, snes, genesis, or playstation...pretty much how I played and beat a ton of games coming up. Had to make it as far as we could in those 3 days, lol. His favorite genres is run n' gun games like contra, ikari warriors, metal slug, and guerrilla war, those top down/side scrolling plane shooters like gradius and r-type, and beat'em ups.

He also loves sports games (a genre that I grew up hating with a passion, whereas my dad and older brother loved them. Used to kick me off the snes and nes when I would be playing a rpg too long or something, and they were ready to play games like tecmo bowl, bases loaded, double dribble etc. = ( ), and really hated rpgs and strategy games like shining force. (My favorite genres pretty much. He has no clue why I used to love those games where "all you do is friggin' read" like final fantasy 3 (6). I used to come back at him with "well if you like sports so much, go out and play it". He did go to the gym on the regular though to play basketball, lmao).

Nowadays, he mostly just stick to playing all the metal slug games on the pc, MAME arcade games, and playing a ton of fan-made beat'em up games, like that pretty cool streets of rage fan game). He has a PS3, but mainly just uses it to play stuff like scott pilgrim vs the world or double dragon neon.

My mom hates games though. She tried to play super mario bros. back when we first got a nes once....she fell down the first hole that you come across, and never touched a console game ever again. The most she will play nowadays is cell phone stuff like candy crush or solitaire.
