When Sakurai was explaining spirits I thought it would be an uninteresting thing that I wouldn't bother with but I think they might be my favorite part of the game. The team was really clever with matching the battle conditions with the spirits.

Play smash. Preferably with as many people as possible (do free-for-alls or teams). Each human player generates coins by playing, so the more people the better. This is probably the best way, as you get a ton of coins and get to have fun at the same time.

If you want to farm coins by yourself, you can play online (similar to playing in person, as long as you can deal with the bad things about online). Or you can farm coins in classic mode (set the difficulty to 5.0, win the first fight, and then SD on the second fight for optimal coin generation). Or, save up a bunch of rematch items, wait until a spirit event happens which gives you bonus gold, and then rematch the same legendary spirit over and over again.

lmao, so this guy was hosting an arena and had a stream going, put the name of the stream in the title. I went ahead and started watching while I played so I could hear the commentary. The host ends up kicking me because I kept three-stocking him with Richter. What a spoilsport.

Killing Peach in that Pauline fight felt so good

Couldn't cheese her with the staff on hard since she dodges everything when not standing still, so I had to bait Mario with Marth and counter him off screen. Then chase down Peach because the DK AI was too unpredictable to bait and I managed to corner her with curry in the Mario spot and rip her

Now gotta deal with Rathalos

Besides scouring the land, make sure all the dungeon areas (blueish circular icons) have yellow stars beside them on the map. In Gourmet Race, get all 3 places for each of the 3 characters. Get Richter by destroying all the ghosts in the area with the 5 cannon balls given. Get Chrom by jumping into the chest you should have opened in the Lost Woods area. In the Metal Gear area, be sure to flip all the switches to get all the spirits in that part.

What character are you playing as? Samus isn't very fast, so a lot of characters can rush her down with aerials, counter with their own projectiles or both.

This. Even though Ness isn't suited for offense, I've found that playing aggressively against her works somewhat well.

Try changing your default settings rather than your custom nametag one. I made one that says my username on it, and was having the same problem when I was playing online until I changed the default settings.

I just got bodied by the Baby Bowser spirit on the spirit board. Giant Bowser with super armor is bullshit

Grabs are usually the best way to deal with anything armored (if the grab is one of the safer ones moreso). Especially if there is no negative knockback modifier as well
