I've never played a bad Ubisoft game.

The 7th gen AC games are legendary.
Child of Light is one of very few non-indie turn based RPG's from the last couple generations, and had great and unique mechanics.
Call of Juarez Gunslinger is the greatest FPS ever.

And all of those are dripping with style, quality resources and fun polish.

The closest thing to a bad Ubisoft game is AC1, and that's just because it gets repetitive after a while.

I think for the most part Ubisoft have fixed their reputation. They ruined it around the the of AC unity when this happened.

they have really good post-launch support compared to other studios, but their shit comes out broken a lot of the time and two of their recent big games (far cry 5 and AC odyssey) were both bad in a way that no amount of patches would fix

i hope the division 2 is good, but it doesn't look like it will be

IMO Ubisoft games are (mostly) anti-fun.

it's the same tired design copy-pasted & then reskinned to fit different franchises - Assassin's Creed, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Watch Dogs, The Division, Far Cry, etc... it's all pretty much the same formula with minor variations.

And then when you get to the actual formula it is overwhelmingly dull, basically a boring campaign and then a ton of low effort busywork type missions scattered around the open world map.

feels like Ubisoft's design philosophy is to throw in features that sound good in marketing without giving any thought to whether or not the game is actually fun to play

I like Far Cry, although I thought Far Cry 5 was a misstep and am worried they are going to drive that franchise into the ground like they've done with pretty much all of their franchises.

I feel pretty meh about most of their other titles. It's like someone else said, it's mostly just busy work collectathons. I honestly don't understand how people still like AC.

I did for a while when they excelled at lazy, middle of the road games like Farcry 3, Watch Dogs, and the middle few Assassin's Creed games. people finally started calling them out on their samey shit and they've done a pretty good turn around. All three of those series are much better now as well as the other stuff they're putting out. I'm still cautious that they'll try and bite me again but I'm optimistic now.
