Yeah. First season hit in June 2016. The eighth season comes out in December and is also the last.

I've seen the first couple episodes. I'd have binged the whole season but work's been keeping me busy, so I can only watch a couple of episodes a day. Might finish it up this weekend if I can peel myself away from Let's Go Pikachu long enough to do so.

And yeah, the SQW (status quo warrior) backlash over the show has been pretty hilarious considering that I doubt any of them ever would have watched the original She-Ra.

Can't watch the last 3 episodes until I get home, but unless it fumbles hard I'm ready to classify this as "very good". I don't see the general response being anything but positive as well. I don't know how it ends, but basing on the pacing In ASSUMING they'll be going for multiple seasons.

Netflix has no problem cancelling shows without proper endings if they dont get enough views within a short window of their release.

Dont get your hopes too high until it is confirmed renewed (which generally happens quickly)

They've released at least 2 waves of Funko pops, with a few of them being in high demand

and Funko even acquired the Heman molds from the 80s toys and released a "Savage World" line of toys that are just existing franchises but as Heman. Like Mortal Kombat and even fucking Freddy Kruger

and I think theres a cereal coming out too

This is getting buzz like crazy on Twitter, I have no doubt it's getting the views it needs to get at least another three seasons. After that, I'm not sure, but I can't remember the last time a Netflix show got this much social media engagement and didn't get renewed.

I'll probably take a look at this at some point, though right now I'm busy being totally lazy on an off day.

My kids really like it. I think it's alright. Very detailed backgrounds and incredible use of colours. It's not my favourite of Netflix's animation (Hilda is so good.) but definitely a welcome addition to the catalogue.
