Depends on my mood. I go through spells where I can only listen to one or the other. Voted vocal though since I like more of that.

Vocal, but I also prefer music that has power or meaning to the lyrics.

I listen to some shallow pop and stuff but otherwise I hate cringing at hearing really generic slopped together lyrics.

Depends of the genre.

Trance - instrumentals
Death Metal - vocals
Trap - either or works for me
Jazz - instrumentals, but it's even better if the vocalist is very good though very rare.

Mostly vocal. I like good lyrics and some have a lot of emotional meaning for me but on initial listens vocals are just another instrument. Cocteau Twins were a great band and their singer a lot of time didn't even use real words, I love that.
